Common questions
Why actual measurements instead of S / M / L?
A "size S" from a Japanese brand and a "size S" from a US brand are not the same. Every country defines its own sizing, and none of them agree.
Japanese cup sizes also run larger than Western ones for the same letter, so a "C cup" in Japan and a "C cup" in the UK fit quite differently. Since our vintage pieces come from Japan, standard sizing would actually point you the wrong way.
Are vintage sizes consistent?
No. A "medium" from a 1990s Japanese label and a "medium" from a 1980s one can feel like completely different garments. Different decades, different makers, different patterns.
That's why we measure every piece ourselves and list actual garment measurements in centimeters โ pit-to-pit, waist, hips. These numbers stay the same no matter where you're shopping from.
How should I measure?
Enter garment flat measurements, not body measurements. Lay the piece flat and measure across. The calculator uses centimeters by default, but you can switch to inches.
What does "Flexible Fit" mean?
Items marked F have adjustable features, stretchy materials, or a relaxed cut, so they work across multiple sizes. These aren't included in the calculator since they don't map to a single size.
